Nikon D300s Digital Image: 2012033001.42 - On March 30, 2012, BNSF 5377 and 4590 are on the point of a northbound Tehachapi Mountains stack train, exiting tunnel 5 and nearing where tunnel 4 used to be. The tunnel was daylighted after collapsing in the Tehachapi Mountains earthquake that occurred Monday, July 21, 1952. The mainline was moved over several feet and the hillside above the tunnel was used in the big fill.

I am on top of tunnel 3 taking this photo. Tunnel 4 was daylighted after collapsing in the Tehachapi Mountains earthquake that occurred Monday, July 21, 1952. The mainline was moved over several feet and the hillside above the tunnel was used in the big fill.
