SP 3515 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-6

SP 3515 is an EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-6. Reportedly: SP 3515 was built in 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 21375, SP 5682, SP Class DF-607.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3515 SP Class EF418-6.
This locomotive was upgraded in 1975 emerging as SP 3413 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-2.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Retired 1993 to Levin Metals. Went to the Feather River Rail Society in 1993. In 1994 it went to Arizona Central 3413.
SP 3515 in Bayshore Yard
On an unrecorded date in October 1972 Southern Pacific (SP) GP9 3515 is in Bayshore Yard, San Francisco, CA.

SP 3526 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-6

SP 3526 is an EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-6. Reportedly: SP 3526 was built in 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 21386, SP 5693, SP Class DF-607.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3526 SP Class EF418-6.
This locomotive was upgraded in 1976 emerging as SP 3437 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-2.
The disposition of this locomotive is: 1985 wrecked in Houston. Sold, presumed scrapped.

SP 3551 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-6

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 3551 was built in 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, SP T&NO 429, SP Class DF-607, builder's number 21413. In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3551 SP Class EF418-6.
This locomotive was upgraded in 1975 emerging as SP 3423 SP Class EF418E-2.
The disposition of this locomotive is: wrecked in 1979, scrapped in 1981.

On Sunday, November 10, 1974, Southern Pacific (SP) GP9 3551 is sitting in Tracy, CA.

SP 3553 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-6

SP 3553 is an EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-6. Reportedly: SP 3553 was built in 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 21415, SP T&NO 431, SP Class DF-607.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3553 SP Class EF418-6.
This locomotive was upgraded in 1975 emerging as SP 3424 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-2.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Wrecked in 1983 Napa River Bridge. Sold, presumed scrapped.
SP 3553 in Stockton
Southern Pacific 3553, former T&NO 431, leads an SD45 at E. Scotts Ave. in Stockton, CA on an unknown date in November 1972. According to Dave Stanley, the plant behind it is “the old Del Monte plant.” Presumably a former cannery.

SP 3568 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7

SP 3568 is an EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7. Reportedly: SP 3568 was built in 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 22900, SP T&NO 446, SP Class DF-611.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3568 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7.
This locomotive was upgraded in 1974 emerging as SP 3771 EMD GP9 (GP9R), SP Class EF418E-3.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Retired in 1985, sold 1987. Presumed scrapped.

SP 3570 is an EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7. Reportedly: SP 3570 was built in 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 22902, SP T&NO 448, SP Class DF-611.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3570 SP Class EF418-7.
This locomotive was upgraded in 1976 emerging as SP 3794 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-3.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Retired 1995. Presumed scrapped.

SP 3572 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 3572 was built in January 1957 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 22913, SP 5731, SP Class DF-611.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3572 SP Class EF418-7.
This locomotive was upgraded in Feb. 1975 emerging as SP 3773 EMD GP9R, SP Class EF418E-3.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Retired Nov. 1991. Became Sierra Pacific Coast Railway, Sierra Northern, 46.
SP 3572 in Tracy, CA
Southern Pacific GP9 3572 is at Tracy, CA on Sunday, November 10, 1974. OPPRRMS said: "Those of you who are into the horn thing will probably note the replacement P5R24 on the 3572, somewhat unusual on an SP freight Geep as the standard horn was the P3 shown on the 3570. 3572's P5 was well-known for being particularly melodious."

SP 3581 is an EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7. Reportedly: SP 3581 was built in 1957 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 22922, SP 5740, SP Class DF-607.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3581 SP Class EF418-7.
This locomotive was upgraded in 1975 emerging as SP 3779 EMD GP9 (GP9R), SP Class EF418E-3.
The disposition of this locomotive is: retired 1990, sold in 1992. Became North Coast Railroad Authority 3779.

Southern Pacific (SP) GP9s 3581 and 3526 are at the east end of Roseville yard on Sunday, June 28, 1973.

SP 3589 EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7

SP 3589 is an EMD GP9, SP Class EF418-7. Reportedly: SP 3589 was built in 1956 by EMD as a model GP9, builders number 22930, SP 5748, SP Class DF-607.
In 1965 it was renumbered to SP 3589 SP Class EF418-7.
In December it was renumbered to SP 2877 SP Class ES418-7.
The disposition of this locomotive is: Retired in 1987, sold in 1988 and rebuilt by Livingston Rebuild Center. In 1989 it became Yadkin Valley RR 204.
